Ohhh, this is tough. Who am I. In a nutshell, I am a self sufficient, middle aged woman at peace with myself. Alone, but seldom lonely. Married over 20 years + a couple serious relationships, but have been alone by choice for the past several years.
I'm honest, blunt to a fault at times, very sensitive and caring, affectionate, humorous, and sensual. If you want my opinion, you better be serious as you will get it.
I adore my 2 grown children. Watching them grow and raising them to be productive human beings is one of my greatest accomplishments. My dog and cat are my best buddies. Always loving, and never critical. Can't beat their company.
I live with the river in my back yard, 20 feet from my living room window and whether it's 90 or 10 below I have my coffee outside sitting on my swing with my dog. My friends think I'm nuts to sit outside like that, but then I never have worried much what others thought...
I love flowers and the birds. Nature has always been a huge part of my life and a quiet comfort to me.
I was self employed for many years as a decorator/seamstress, have had a couple in-home craft shops, but now work out of the home as a bookkeeper/accountant. Job is great, boss is great, nice office, flexible hours, but I hate having to leave my house to work as there are so many projects I want to do at home.
I just turned 61 and hope to retire the very minute I hit 62.
I love building things, working with wood and made most the furniture in my house.
What do I dislike? I hate liars and cheats, and people who are mean to children and animals. And, I hate winter and the cold. I'm going to be furious if I live through a frigid winter and die in April just when the daffodils are starting to bloom.
Oh, and I am a great cook, or was for years. I still haven't learned to cook for one, so generally give away half of what I cook to someone else.
I love to laugh, and that's the one major thing I miss by being alone so much. A sense of humor is and was always imperative when I had a partner.
